The Sirius is made from a bespoke grade of carbide developed by Ceratizit exclusively for the manufacturer - Perfor. The material combines a special thermal composition with nano-grade grain size, giving the drill its outstanding properties.
Sirius Drill
Out performs all other performance drills. Sirius is the exceptionally tough, wear-resistant, solid carbide drill. In independent end-user controlled trials, the superior penetration rates achieved by Sirius drills have made savings of up to 70% when compared to existing high performance drills of solid carbide and replaceable tip design.
Perfor have added a unique patented point geometry chip-breaker and flute design, which achieves complete chip breaking and swarf evacuation at cutting data not previously possible. Field trials throughout the UK and Europe have tested the Sirius on materials as diverse as Inconel, nimonic, stainless and tool steels and cast/SG iron. The cutting data achieved is impressive and conclusive, proving that Sirius is the ultimate high performance drill.
