Tivoly Group becomes a tier one supplier to EADS and AIRBUS

Earlier in 2009 Group Tivoly were approved as one of a small number of 'tier one' suppliers of consumable tools to AIRBUS Industries.

On 28th October 2009 senior management of Group Tivoly attended a conference for Fist Tier suppliers to EADS group; the parent company of AIRBUS. Group Tivoly were presented with an award in recognition of their position as a Strategically Important Supplier.

Tivoly, the largest manufacturer of cutting tools in France, announces that it has acquired Elite Tooling Limited based in Rotherham, as of 11th June 2009.

Elite Tooling had a turnover in 2008 of one million Euros, with EBIDTA of 20%. It employs 6 persons. The existing directors and staff all remain with the company. Using state of the art CNC machines Elite Tooling is positioned within a niche market, unique within their market segment as an SME fully competent in the design, development and manufacture of highly specialised cutting tools, with a 2-7 day turnaround.

The Tivoly group add that the new member of the group has reinforced its position as a first tier supplier in the Aeronautical industry, and feel that the combination of highest quality with a very short lead time will give them a considerable advantage in this ever more demanding market.

New MACH cutter grinder

Bob Hill, director of Elite Tooling, recently confirmed his order at MACH for a £175,000 purchase of an ANCA RX7 cutter grinder, pallet loading system and 700 Litre Turbo Centrifugal coolant system with temperature control. The machine is also specified with SPC analysis and control software.

Originally a manufacturer of high performance special tooling, Elite extended into the manufacture of standard tooling in response to customer demand.

'The new RX machine is compact, powerful, versatile, and equally efficient for both our single tool and batch productions.'

Main use of the machine will initially be for producing solid carbide endmills in batches of 1000, running unmanned and overnight to help
beat tough overseas competition.
